Parkville Highlights
The Parkville PTO hosted the annual “Name the Parkville Penguins” Election! During the primaries in early October, students and staff narrowed down the penguin names to Tux, Waddles, Glitzy, and Fluffy! On Parkville Election Day, Parkville students voted for their two favorite names!
Students learned about the voting process, had an opportunity to cast their own votes, and received an “I Voted!” sticker! While integrating social studies, and even some math, Parkville School’s 2024 election was quite a success! Thank you to our family volunteers for your time and energy!
The results are in and the winners are... Waddles and Fluffy! Congratulations! #DiscoverGreatness #ParkvilleProud
Parkville students had a blast at the annual Pumpkin Patch! The Parkville PTO outdid themselves with decorations and photo ops galore! Every Parkville student got to choose their perfect pumpkin and Coach Smith led the fall-themed fun with relay races! Big thanks to the Parkville PTO and Coach Smith for making this Pumpkin Patch a success! Creativity and school spirit were also in full swing at Parkville! Students and staff rocked their favorite school spirit gear and fun costumes, making it a day to remember.

Parkville PTO recently hosted their fall 'Birthday Book Club' event. First introduced in 2009, this is a wonderful way to celebrate Parkville birthdays! Four times a year, families have the opportunity to participate in the 'Birthday Book Club' as a way to celebrate a child's birthday. Students are given an opportunity to choose a book to donate to the Parkville Library. This program has been very successful, enriching Parkville's library and classrooms with many new, high-quality, and wonderfully diverse books. Every donated book is marked with a special bookplate acknowledging the student's birthday and remains in the school for many years to come. The donated books are truly gifts that keep on giving. #ParkvilleProud #DiscoverGreatness
At Parkville School, we strive to use our talents, gifts and energy to move the world to a better place. During the month of October, every Parkville student created their own dot, inspired by the book, “The Dot,” by Peter H. Reynolds. On Unity Day, we wore orange for kindness, acceptance and inclusion and unveiled our school-wide display that truly represents every Parkville student! We can all proudly make our mark!

From learning routines to making new friends, it was a great start to the school year for Parkville’s PreK and kindergarten students. Mrs. Diana Haanraadts, Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education, was on hand to assist with arrival, lunch and dismissal and our local NCPD, Security Guard, Mr. Will, and Crossing Guard, Ms. Constance, were also present to greet our students and to keep us safe! Dr. Bossert, Superintendent of Schools, spent time visiting Parkville to see how well students are adjusting to their new routines and classrooms! Here’s to new friendships, amazing adventures, and endless discoveries! #ParkvilleProud #DiscoverGreatness
